The Science Center in the House of Nature in Salzburg offers a fascinating journey of discovery into the world of science and technology on over 7,000 m². It is the perfect place for families and children to learn and experiment in a playful way. More than 80 interactive stations in the Science Center encourage you to research and discover, think, try and build.

On the lowest floor, everything revolves around energy and lifting techniques. Here, visitors can understand the laws of levers through vivid experiments, try out a large lifting platform and learn how hydraulic power transmission works. In addition, the generation of electricity by hydropower and solar energy is clearly explained. Interactive stations invite you to experiment with water and discover the power of water.

On the first floor, you can experience the world of acoustics. Here, visitors can explore the wave nature of sound, discover noises and sounds, and feel the vibrations of music in the unique “Feel Mozart” violin. Your own voice can also be tested in the screaming booth, which makes for a lot of fun.

The second floor offers numerous experiments in physics, technology and mathematics. Here, visitors can playfully discover the laws of nature, for example when launching rockets with compressed air or building and testing bridges. The experiment stations answer questions about the functioning of machines and materials.

Another area is dedicated to the human body, health and fitness. With interactive competitions and simulations, such as the ski jumping simulator or the wheelchair course, one’s own body awareness and dexterity are put to the test.

Our Universe – Planets, Stars, Galaxies
The space exhibition in the House of Nature invites you on a fascinating journey of discovery through space and time. It offers the opportunity to dive into distant galaxies, understand the formation of our solar system and retrace the exciting history of space travel.
Through interactive stations, you can explore the cosmic forces that influence events on Earth. How do the seasons actually come about? What role do the tilt of the Earth’s axis and the Earth’s elliptical orbit play? The Vision Globe, an innovative spherical projection surface, transforms into the sun or its eight planets at the touch of a button. Impressive images of sunspots, the cratered surface of Mercury and the massive storm on Jupiter are presented. You can also find out your ideal weight in a playful way on the planetary scales!
