96 traditional ‘stands’ and huts as well as atmospheric lighting create a unique atmosphere. Offered are handmade unique items such as wooden toys, bouquets of spices, soaps, glass and ceramic items, candles, metalworking products, carved wooden figures through to elaborately decorated Christmas tree baubles and of course Salzburg delicacies and mulled wine
The Salzburg Christkindlmarkt is particularly known for the traditional tower blowing as well as for the daily performances by choirs in front of the baroque backdrop of the Salzburg Cathedral.

At the end of the year: The Christmas market becomes the New Year’s Eve market – 27. December 2024 – 1. January 2025
From December 27th, the Salzburg Christkindlmarkt will be transformed into a large New Year’s Eve market. At the turn of the year there is an extensive New Year’s Eve program with lots of music, dancing and fireworks.
New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day – KULTUR.SPIEL.PLATZ.
Kapitelplatz becomes a stage for regional artists and cultural performers, free of gastronomy and sales stalls. International fireworks, film contributions, and the Raiffeisen New Year’s Eve countdown will be broadcast on the LED screen between performances. Acts include: Lungau Big Band, Robert Rias, Anna Buchegger, and many more.
