Surf wave on the historic Almkanal
Salzburg also has a surfing hotspot. In the past, the Suchmann lock was intended as a drainage for floodwaters from the Almkanal. In 2010, it was converted into a surfer lock. All year round you can throw yourself on board there during the day. Especially in the hot months, this is a popular place for sports enthusiasts. Don’t worry, the wave is also very suitable for beginners, as it can be adjusted according to skill level. Just try it out and have fun.

For the not quite so surfing enthusiasts, there is also a less exciting way to cool off at the Almkanal. Just take swimwear and a towel with you and jump into the cool water.
