Salzburg is a city with a long history that is home to artworks from many epochs and can still find room to host works of contemporary art and in public too, where it is freely accessible.
The purpose of this art project sponsored by the Salzburg Foundation is to make visual art created by modern artists readily approachable for those who might not otherwise engage with art and to demonstrate that even in the historical surroundings of the old city there is still space for modern artistic creativity.
